apple varieties
The orchard offers seven varieties of apples that are ready to be picked by you and the whole family. Our varieties include the following in order of ripening:

paula red

Paula Red is our choice for an early apple. A cross between McIntosh and Cortland, it ripens earlier than either of its parents. It is best between August 20th and September 5th. During this time it surpasses McIntosh and Cortland as they have yet to fully mature.

ginger gold

Ginger Gold - One of the earliest commercial varieties to ripen, bearing in August on the east coast. The primary use is for eating out of hand, though it can be used for most other purposes. the flesh, of a cream color, resists browning more than most varieties. the flavor is mild but with a tart finish. Makes excellent apple pies.
