Cross-country skiing is a great way to explore all the wonderful winter trail systems that make an appearance when the snow does. A trip to Five Fields Farm in Bridgton was all about exploring a place we've never seen during the winter months and discovering a hill there that offered some thrilling speed for the kids.

"Following the 2007 Mushers Bowl, Tom knew that changes need to be made to the course, so creating new trails to accommodate the Lakes Biathlon would be no more difficult than renovating some of the old trails. Paul Field, Dr. and Jr. were instrumental in creating the new trails that Tom had ribboned off last spring. "The land talks to you; it tells you where the trail ought to go....Anything suitable for the dogs is suitable for skiing."

The spectacular terrain of this area lends itself to recreational sports.
